Are you a retired teacher who is available to return to the classroom for the 2023-24 school year? There is an incentive to help make that commitment more interesting for you. The criteria are as follows:
- Must have retired in the last five (5) years;
- For retirees who taught prek, primary and secondary levels;
- Agree to work full-time for the 2023-2024 school year;
- $12 000 incentive. To access this amount, the teacher must be eligible for an immediate unreduced RREGOP pension, provide proof of eligibility and agree to work full-time. The teacher must have met one of the three criteria for an unreduced pension:
- At least 61 years of age;
- Have at least 35 years of service to qualify;
- Be at least 60 years of age and have reached eligibility factor 90 (age + years of qualifying service).
